Backend Software Engineer (Python)

Role Overview:

We’re seeking a talented Backend Software Engineer (Python) to join our dynamic In-House Tooling team. At エリート・モールド・テック, our mission is to revolutionize workflow efficiency as we continue to grow. As part of the team, you’ll play a crucial role in developing the Protolabs Network Control Hub—a centralized admin portal designed to streamline operations and oversee internal user activities.

What You’ll Do:

• Collaborate with the Full-stack Engineer to build foundational systems for the Protolabs Network Control Hub.
• Develop APIs, design data models, maintain backend code, and scale production systems.
• Approach problems with curiosity and a mindset to build the best product.
• Own features end-to-end, working cross-functionally with stakeholders to find elegant solutions.
• Design and implement solutions, collaborating with engineers from your team and cross-team projects.
• Maintain product quality by following best practices and implementing testing strategies.
• Improve the developer experience by implementing tools or practices to enhance efficiency.
• Collaborate with our Backend guild to set standards and enhance Backend systems.

What It Takes:

• 3+ years of experience building web applications and backend services.
• Experience in a full-stack environment.
• Strong coding skills with Python or similar languages.
• Solid understanding of designing, developing, testing, and monitoring production backend systems.
• Experience with relational databases like PostgreSQL or similar.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and other relevant technologies.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Bonus Skills:

• Working knowledge of NodeJS.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD environments.
• Understanding of RabbitMQ, Event-Based Architecture.
• Familiarity with Frontend frameworks like Angular.
